This time I came to Minhang, Shanghai for business, I specifically chose Huhua International Hotel (Shanghai Heqing Road). Originally, I was only interested in its location near Zizhu Science and Technology Park and Jiaotong University. After staying for two days, I discovered that this high-end hotel hidden in the Minhang residential area had a much more relaxing experience than expected.
The location of the hotel is really pleasing. It's only a 10 minute walk from the Jinping Road subway station on Line 5, and you don't have to take any detours with your luggage. The surrounding area is full of local snack shops that have been open for more than a decade. You can find authentic local noodles and pan fried shops just a few steps downstairs at night, with a particularly lively atmosphere. It takes less than a kilometer to walk to Hongyuan and Ginkgo Park. In the early morning, you can take a walk along Heqing Road and meet many students from Jiaotong University for morning runs. You can leisurely stroll to the banks of Minhang River, enjoying the river breeze and watching the sunrise, without the crowded feeling of hotels in the city. You don't have to worry about driving here at all. The hotel comes with a free super large parking lot, and there are plenty of parking spaces without having to compete. For those who drive to Minhang Industrial Park for business, this is really worry free.
I booked a suite with audio and video configuration this time. As soon as I entered, I was amazed by the spacious space. The layout of one bedroom and one living room clearly distinguished the reception area from the rest area. My friends were watching projections and chatting in the living room, while I rested in the bedroom without disturbing each other. Both rooms were equipped with independent TVs, and the details were particularly thoughtful. The bathroom has been separated into dry and wet areas, and the showerhead in the shower area has a particularly large water output. The most surprising thing is that the shower room is specially equipped with a retractable clothesline. For people who often travel to change clothes, this small design is more considerate than many high-end hotels, and the washed clothes can be dried overnight. The bedding is just right in terms of softness and hardness, and the support provided by the pillow and mattress is very strong. After several days of exhaustion from rushing, they all dispersed shortly after lying down.
The hotel's facilities completely exceeded expectations, and the renovation completed in 2018 allowed the overall facilities to retain the stability of a traditional star rated hotel without appearing outdated. The buffet breakfast has a wide range of categories, including Chinese Congee noodles Dim sum and western bread and coffee. The price of 48 yuan per person is very cost-effective, and children under 1.2 meters can have free meals. The chess and card room and tea room that come with the public area are particularly suitable for hanging out with a few friends. The laundry room is equipped with a dryer, so you don't have to worry about clothes drying out during the rainy season. The staff at the front desk had a very friendly attitude. When checking in, they proactively handed me welcome fruits and even recommended our local restaurant, which is often visited by locals nearby, without any sense of alienation like a chain hotel.
As a well-established high-end hotel in Minhang that has been open for many years, Huhua International Hotel (Shanghai Heqing Road) does not have the hustle and bustle of Lujiazui Hotel, nor the remoteness of a suburban resort hotel. Living here not only makes it convenient to go to Jiaotong University and Zizhu Science and Technology Park for business, but also allows you to integrate into the local slow life in a down-to-earth manner. Whether it is for business trips or weekend gatherings with friends, it is a particularly comfortable choice.Show more
